There is no date on this article. Would you still say this is a good extension for performance? I'm concerned about % of CPU used by my site.

I recently uninstalled SOBI2 (and Community Builder) when I ran into some CPU performance issues on my site, and I'm concerned about SOBI2 and performance. My host suspended my site for an afternoon, and I spent the next week optimizing my template (JA Teline II). There were processes that were running too long, and the site was taking up too many system resources.

I had version 4.6.2 of SOBI2. Joomla version 1.5.11. PHP 5.2.9. MySQL: 5.0.67-community,

So I got rid of a bunch of add-ons, trying to get back to a core Joomla install. I'll only add components now if I'm sure they are efficient.

I'd like to put SOBI2 back. I'm not sure it was the problem, as it wasn't getting a huge amount of volume yet.

I would like to develop an online business directory, but don't want something that's going to crave CPU.

If you use SOBI2, is your site high volume? On average, how many visitors do you get a day? Have you had any "close calls" with CPU?
