How to track down a high server load 2007/10/08 23:18 Karma: 0
This thread discusses the Content article: How to track down a high server load

Hey Anthony. Some really good info in the articles you've posted here. I've got a question about lighttpd. Are you able to use SEF modules such as sh404SEF with lighttpd? I am only familiar with Apache and know that Joomla SEF requires mod_rewrite. Been looking into a few hosting providers that have lighttpd over the past few months and wondering how much of a headache it would be to migrate a couple of sites over.

Best regards, Sean

This is a good article but I can't link a process to a table so I cannot make the connection to the com or mod that is causing trouble. Any other tips/hints please?

(Process ID, User, Priority, Nice, Virtual Memory, Resident Size, Shared Size, , State, CPU, Memory, CPU Time used, Command)

Newbee question here:
How does one run this in shared hosting environment?
Does one have it create the file in a writeable area of server like under /home/acccount/

top -b -i -n 20 >> ./top_procs
