Yeah, I didn't believe it. I sat for like 10 minutes enabling and disabling it (while watching through MySQL Administrator), going "This can't be happening... No... That's not possible". After a while, I realize it was true...

What are the requirements to setup QueryCache ?

You don't need it! All you need is nothing! With file based caching, you can use it on a shared host!

You can't see real time info from phpMyAdmin... What you can do (somewhat less real time), is check out Server Traffic from the Status tab on the front page of MySQL... If you have more than that site, you prob won't be able to tell...
