When you say incorrect, how do you mean?

What storage method are you using? File, Memcache, APC, XCache, Eaccelerator?

What version of Php?

Well, that means it's a UTF8 error. I'll look into why this is happening, and if there are any methods of fixing it...

Ok, installed it. Seamed to work (well no error at least, no idea how to check if it does the function right - had no load on the server at that time) ... BUT then i do to config and did mysql5 instead of normal (as i have mysql5 ^^ and are too stupid to read the manual - i didn't had to change anything) ... then i had the display that comes if the site can not connect to database anymore changing the database.backup.php back to .php made it work again, but well without querycache ... any idea? new installation did not bring anything. And i have to add that the database.php from the query cache package does bring this error even query cache is uninstalled (but looking in the source it is only included if query cache is there on the hdd or?)

My error! normal is like turned off so it does not work turned on. Do i have to put in my mysql-server IP (its a dedicated box) somewhere maybe?

Me again. Did some more testing, doing mysql_cached in config seems to work, even we have mysql5 - doing that it can not connect to database. With mysql_cached it does write cahed files at least and with xcache it does
write querys inside the var Cached var#0 6332 to be exact. But most have like hit 0 and recount 0 - is that fine in this way??

var#0 16.00 K 16.00 M 14.08 M free - how much ram to config in xcache for that?

Well, for the MySQL 5 connector, I'll have to look into that (try the MySQLi)...

As for the number of queries, make sure to keep the TTL low (5 or 10 minutes) to help limit the number of strays...

Fatal error: Allowed memory size of 44040192 bytes exhausted (tried to allocate 977773 bytes) in /home/www/components/com_qcache/qcache.php on line 97

I have tons of those errors now. Then more users are online - sites are shown but without the template/css (mainly in fireboard and cb/cbe) and things like that, think all has to do with this error message. But well whats the php ini max memory to use? i had load 5-6 on php/webserver too at those times. turned of querycache and gone back to 0.5 - i am very interested in helping to find bugs and testing as i have a big site too to test it

Hmmm... Are you saying that the load of 5-6 was reduced to 0.5 by turning off querycache?

I'm going to do some testing over here... What version of php?

Yes look, i turned it on did some quick testing and it seamed to work over here. But as i came back alot of useres complained about strange looking profile or forum and so on.. i noticed that css and joomla template was completly gone from time to time on those links (forum, cb profile) - maybe something to do with xcache var caching css too? And some users posted those error messages with memory exceded. Watching the webserver (lighty, fastcgi, php 5.2.4, he had a load of 5-6 at this time) after disbaled query cache all sites where done out corrrectly again and load gone back to 0.5 witch is it since that - max 0.80)

you got email too, so if you have the time and wish we can do some testing togehter over icq, skype or something like that and i can turn it on again for you to watch the result - just gimme a email

I didn't get any emails... try ircmaxell[at]yahoo[nospam]com...

I know why the memory errors are happening. It's due to a lack of garbage collection on the clear lists (it lists all ID's of queries with each table). It was an oversight. I'll have something whipped up in a few hours...

I actually have it fixed, but I havn't had the time to test it... I'm presently working on another Joomla related project, but it will be a few months off (no, I can't give any hints yet)... I'll try to test it and get it finished Monday or Tuesday...
